Photobook
This project began a few years ago. After moving back to Ohio, I found myself—almost unconsciously—returning to the place where I spent most of my childhood: my father’s trucking yard. The work sat inside me for years before I finally picked up the camera and paid attention to how my body felt in that space.
At this stage, the project captures my central idea. Next I will refine the design, improve the text, tighten the prose, add some more humor, and continue to photograph. I’m not sure this project will ever really end. The yard is still my favorite place to make photographs, and as I gain confidence in myself as an artist, I have a feeling I’ll keep returning—again and again.
